and intense, the TV show Miracles followed a young man named Paul Callan
(Skeet Ulrich) who worked for the church investigating claims of miracles
(which really means he went around disproving them). After experiencing
a miraculous event (being healed by a boy after what should have been
a fatal car accident and seeing a message about God written in his own
blood) Paul quits working for the church when they refute his claims that
he indeed witnessed a miracle. Paul is “recruited” by a man
named Alva Keel (Angus Macfayden) who runs a group called Sodalitas Quaerito
that investigates unexplained phenomena. Together with ex-police officer
Evelyn Santos (Marisa Ramirez), Paul and Alva investigate supposed instances
of ghosts, saints, monsters, possession and other unexplainable phenomena
while trying to learn more about the message Paul received written in
his blood.
Miracles was a victim of America’s attack on Iraq in 2003. The show was preempted multiple times for coverage of the conflict and never had a chance to build the necessary fan base. ABC showed only 6 episodes of the 13 shot. The remaining episodes have since been aired on other networks but there were only 13 shot in total.
